What You Probably Don’t Know About Tobacco
– Dr. Brad Rodu

For the past 28 years, Dr. Rodu has been at the forefront of research and policy development regarding tobacco harm reduction, which informs smokers who are unable or unwilling to quit about vastly safer tobacco products such as smokeless tobacco and e-cigarettes. Rodu has published over 60 scientific articles in the field and has given numerous presentations to legislators, regulators, and other stakeholders across the U.S. and around the world. He is the author of the book (now an e-book), “For Smokers Only: How Smokeless Tobacco Can Save Your Life.”

Never Refer A Patient To Someone Who Knows Less About The Problem Than You Do
– Dr. Carl Allen

This course is based on Dr. Allen’s 40 years of seeing patients with oral conditions who were referred by their physicians. The conditions for which the patients were referred span a wide range of diseases, from harmless to life-threatening. Keeping in mind that we have “mouthless” medical education, the discussion will include patients who were referred by their primary care physician, pediatrician, otolaryngologist, rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, dermatologist, or orthopedic surgeon. In some instances, the patient was referred to the physician by their dentist. Time allowing, a few recently described disorders will also be discussed.
