An Interactive Workshop On Inflammation
As local communities cautiously move through (& beyond) the COVID-19 global health crisis, highly prevalent gingivitis cases continue to increase amidst ramifications of delayed dental visits, infrequent oral hygiene practices, and “mask mouth.” This “new normal” has triggered key research linking gingival inflammation to increased risk in both chronic and acute local and systemic diseases. With every layer of research comes a renewed validation of the importance of inflammatory mitigation and thus calls upon the dental community to rise in meeting the increased demands for stringent gingivitis management protocols. However, as gingivitis cases dramatically increase across the United States, so do the percentages of preventive D1110 procedural codes. As a result, the “old normal” continues to thrive in the face of patients questioning treatment beyond the “free cleaning,” and dentistry has quickly learned that insurance denials were resiliently “virus-proof” as third-party payor requests for delivering substandard levels of care continue to “plague” dental practices across the United States. Join Katrina Sanders and Dr. Leslie Darnell of AZPerio as they deliver an interactive workshop discussing the 4-1-1 on current trends around addressing active gingivitis via the D4346 procedural code, as well as optimal ways to move away from excessive use of the D1110 in an effort to improve patient understanding, acceptance, and ultimately inflammation-free health.
