Patient safety should always be No 1. And I think IV sedation can be done very safely.
Currently, we do conscious sedation, so we’ll prescribe oral benzodiazepines, which for a good amount of people, it works well. But, you know, IV sedation is that next step and it’s a lot more predictable. And it’s reversible too, so it’s safer.
Hi, I’m Dr. Khurram Fahim from Las Vegas, and I’m here for IV Sedation with Vesper Institute.
One of the biggest challenges we face as a dentist is we’re not able to treat everybody. We have so many people that are just simply afraid of going to the dentist, and we have such a large population of people that are not helped. So that’s part of the reason why I’m here, is to learn IV sedation, so we can just treat a bigger population of people and make sure everybody’s comfortable.
The experience during the course has been great. It’s been very one-on-one and all of our questions get answered. We had a lot of online modules to learn, and then coming into the course here in person, we’re just getting to put it all together. So it’s been an awesome didactic experience.
One thing that stands out a lot about the in-person is that we’re learning from both the oral surgeon point of view as well as general dentistry, so seeing how things are done from a general dentist standpoint for simple procedures like fillings or crowns, it’s nice to know that versus how they’re doing for bigger surgery.
If you’re a dentist that’s considering IV sedation or that’s on the fence, not only is it an advantage for your patients to be comfortable, it’s also easier dentistry for you.
You’ll be a lot more productive, a lot more efficient, and your patients will love you for at the same time.
Our program goes beyond certification – it’s a pathway to a more focused, profitable, and fulfilling dental life.
