In my experience utilizing IV sedation, we are really bringing a great service to patients that are not only fearful, but some patients that are looking for a more efficient way to get their dentistry done. So it’s really a dual benefit for our patients.
Hi, I am Jonathan Runion, Columbus, Ohio dentist, and I’m here at the Vesper Institute. I’ve been doing IV sedation since about 2011 and implemented in my practice right away, and I’ve been practicing pretty much daily with IV sedation since then, I’m taking this course to do some advanced training.
On my end, I felt more confident as a clinician, not only with my sedation procedures, but also in the non sedation procedures. Just having that better medical training and medical emergency training, more versed on the medications that the patients are taking really has been, it’s allowed me to be much more confident in everyday dentistry.
With IV sedation, if patients find that you can do it safely and efficiently, it becomes a massive referral source. We are seeing patients quite frequently refer their entire families or their entire close network of friends because they have that really good experience, and it’s something that has completely changed our financial aspect of our practice. We are much more profitable, and that’s been very great overall.
Our program goes beyond certification – it’s a pathway to a more focused, profitable, and fulfilling dental life.
